• the Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB), which regulates the oil and gas industry, and
• the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), which regulates the utilities industry.
   

The emergence of the new agencies reflects the changing face of regulation in Alberta and will allow the AUC and ERCB to focus on two distinct, expanding, and increasingly complex segments of Alberta’s vibrant economy.
